Sneak peek into one of my fav scenes in Toil and Trouble!

So, I just had to share with all of you that I finished the last chapter of Toil and Trouble this morning! Yay!

Really exciting. I expect the book to be released early December.

As part of the release, I wanted to share an excerpt of one of my favorite scenes with Jolie, Sinjin and Rand. Michelle, our indie blogger over at indieurbanfantasy.com, excerpted the scene here:

Would love to know what you all think!

Introducing Stacey Kennedy!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had an awesome weekend. I just wrote quite a bit and I'm happy to say, I just have 4 more pages to write of Toil and Trouble and then it's finished! Yay!

OK, so my post today is to introduce you to another urban fantasy author, Stacey Kennedy. I read her first book, The Willow, and really enjoyed it. Well, Stacey has recently come out with another book, An Everlasting Bite, and I wanted to let everyone know about it.

I asked Stacey for some info about the book and this is what she gave me:

BIO: My novels are lighthearted fantasy, heart squeezing, thigh-clenching romance, and even give a good chuckle every now and again. My journey as a writer began as a way to keep my brain alive since being a stay at home mom can be a little let’s say―numbing. It was an escape from screaming kids, dirty diapers and plain old mom duty. It started as a hobby, but as the stories progressed it became a passion. Now, I indulge at nap time, especially the juicy bits! Every mom needs a good thrill!

An Everlasting Bite:

Love is born between strangers, yet built upon a bond soul deep―one Alpha’s vow to protect his mate from looming danger, all the while, mending her soul and stirring her wolfish desires.

A vicious werewolf attack in Plymouth, Minnesota leaves a young woman violated, bitten and now, transformed into werewolf. But Rynn Murphy doesn’t have to face this transformation alone—she has her mate by her side. And the charming Briggs―Beta to the Patriarch, Valor―is eager to ease her into this new life and mend her battered soul.

With only weeks to adjust to her new fur, Rynn, follows Briggs while he assists in locating the daughter of the Montana’s Alpha, who was abducted from her home. But this journey is not without danger. And soon, they discover the ones who have taken this young wolf do not want her found and will stop at nothing to keep her hidden. Or so it may seem, as bodies begin to drop around them, the murderous attempts start to appear more as a hit than a smoke screen—leaving only one question, who is the intended target…

So, where can you buy An Everlasting Bite? Glad you asked! Right here:

Toil and Trouble, almost done!

Whew am I getting excited. I am halfway through chapter 2o of Toil and Trouble, out of a proposed 21 chapters! Woo Hoo! And I have to tell you, I love this book. It's my favorite of all the books I've written so far.

Because I'm nearing the finish line so much earlier than I anticipated, I'm going to have an early release! Woo Hoo! That's one of the super duper cool things about being a self pubbed author, I can decide when I release my books, not some dude sitting in New York. Love it!

As to a release date, I'm aiming to have TNT released by Dec 24th, at the latest but hopefully closer to mid December.

I'm super stoked!!

Pride and Prejudice Creations on Etsy

So, anyone who knows me knows I'm a huge Jane Austen fan and my most favorite movie is the BBC's Pride and Prejudice with hunky Colin Firth.
Well, one of my readers sent me an email with this awesome link to an etsy store where the artist creates all sorts of Pride and Prejudice inspired creations. There are T shirts, mugs, dish towels, ornaments, etc.

Just had to share this

I received an email today that just really made my day. The email was from a lady who mentioned she had been sending out a book to agents and receiving multiple rejections and was pretty much terribly let down. She purchased one of my books (she didn't say which) through Barnes and Noble and loved it and didn't realize it was self published. Once she did realize it was self published, she decided to bite the bullet and self publish her own book on Amazon and Nook and she said I was the impetus for her making that decision! I was tickled pink! It's emails like that that really make it all worth it. I mean, yes, sales are great and I love it that my books are doing very well but it's hearing about how my success influences the success of others that really makes me proud. What a good way to start my week!

So, I have to admit that the more I write of Toil and Trouble, the more I'm developing a crush on Sinjin.
Sinjin plays a pretty huge part in this book and I feel like his personality really is given plenty of space to roam. LOL
I hope this will please all you Sinjin fans.
And for all lovers of Rand (me included), he is able to shine as well.

Writing in my new characters

So, I've reached the sections in Toil and Trouble where I'm writing in my contest winners, Mercedes and Christine. It is so fun! I've already talked to both about their personalities and descriptions and I am really enjoying incorporating them into my characters. Very fun!

And I have to say that Toil and Trouble is my most favorite book so far. I think it's the most fun and the most exciting to write. I hope all of you will think so too!!!

Win a Kindle!

One of my fellow indie authors, Daniel Arenson, is offering up a Kindle in his contest! Check it http://www.DanielArenson.com/WinAKindle.htm

So, hope everyone had an awesome Halloween! I had such a fun one. My little guy is 1.5 years and this was his first year to trick or treat like a big boy! We went to a friend's house and her daughter and her friend took him by the hand and walked him up to every house. It was so cute!
Halloween is definitely more fun with kids.
How about all of you? Did you all have a good Halloween?
